Figurehead 2008

This commission was won through a competition requesting a landmark sculpture for one of the gateways into the Belfield campus of University College Dublin. It took 12 months to quarry, cut, finish and install. The combined weight of the four limestone blocks is 20 tonnes. This is the artist’s largest commission to date and is one of the tallest free-standing stone sculptures in Ireland.

The team responsible included McKeon Stone Ltd, Technical Stonework Ltd & Creggstone Ltd.
